Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    From the Evening Hedild
A DIRECTOR at the Irish Blood Transfusion Service clocked up an astonishing €130,000 in expenses over three years, the Herald can reveal.

Dr William Murphy shelled out the money on flights, luxury hotels, plush restaurants and gifts of wine for guests, according to figures released under the Freedom of Information Act.

The Four Seasons Hotel in Ballsbridge, the Hilton in London, as well as The Lobster Pot, Roly's and the Ely Restaurant in Dublin, all feature on the expense sheet of the Medical and Scientific Director.

Dr Murphy ran up more money than the then Chief Executive of the IBTS, and in one year claimed more than twice the industrial wage.

Labour Spokesperson for Health Jan O'Sullivan today called for a public explanation into the controversy.

Was he bringing the blood donors or his family and friends to the hotels and restaurants? They should make him re-mortgage his house to pay it all back...

I'm surprised at my apathy and total lack of surprise that yet another F ucker has been caught swindling the coffers. I am surprised though that the media insist on digging up this s hit when we all know nothing will come of it.

It looks like the Christians no longer have a monopoly on turning wine into blood.

One must only think they were all at it that nobody had the balls to stand up and question what was going on as they were also taking a slice of the pie.

Was reading about this clown the other day, he gets paid something like €40k MORE than the head of the blood transfusion service in the UK.

I dont need to spell out that dear old Ireland has slightly less people than the UK but yet we feel the need to pay top dollar for heads of govt agencies...

Irish government sponsored by L'Oreal, because we're worth it

With that money, they probably could've opened on a Saturday for a few hours every now and then. Y'know, so I don't have to go in on my lunch hour. Y'know, to stop them sending me letters and texts about SERIOUS SHORTAGES.

Seriously, I'm all for giving, but meet me halfway. And don't spend the money on ****e like this.

You'd need baggy trousers to fit all those meals in. I'm surprised he didn't have a cardiac arrest.

    He's an embarrassment.
