Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi Folks,

Childrens Lifeline is going to Scotland for the 2011 Shamrock Run in aid of Barretstown, for 6 days over the August Bank Holiday weekend. We have put together a packed itinerary of attractions, all linked by Michelin Green Routes which means excellent roads and fabulous scenery.

To register your interest, please email childrenslifeline@gmail.com

We hope you can join us as we take every opportunity to remind the locals that Braveheart was filmed in Ireland!

The key details are as follows:
...What is the Shamrock Run? Our biennial foreign trip for charity, run since 2006.
In aid of? Barrettstown Castle's recreational therapeutic programme for seriously ill kids.
When? August Bank Holiday 2011, provisional dates from 30th July to 4th August
Where to? Scotland. We plan to visit Loch Ness, Culloden Battlefield, Glencoe, Stirling Castle and Loch Lomond. We will spend at least one night on the magical Isle of Skye before returning to Edinburgh through beautiful Perthshire.
How much? The fund-raising target will be approximately €1,800 per person. This is a provisional figure but we will be doing our best to keep costs down.
What is covered? Ferry fare, accommodation, breakfast and evening meals.
Bike hire? If you require bike hire we can arrange that for you.
What you need A full bike licence, your own bike (if you are not hiring one) which should be roadworthy and reliable and the ability to cover up to 250 km per day.
What else? We do the navigation, marshalling and provide support vehicles. You just enjoy.

In previous years, we have travelled across the USA, coast to coast in 2006 and in 2008 we toured California, Nevada and Arizona. We realise the high fund-raising targets associated with such trips are not appropriate in the current economic climate, hence we put this package together to help you to help us raise money to fund this critical intervention in the lives of sick kids.

Thanks for reading the above, Hope to see some of you on the trip and remember... all funds raised go to Barretstown as Childrens Life Line is 100% voluntary ( we have our proper day jobs to )

    Phil
