A man from South Florida got an eyeful of more than he was paying to see during a lap dance in 2008. Michael Ireland actually suffered a serious injury during the lap dance he purchased.
Lap Dance Injury Causes Permanent Injury
At the Cheetah Club Ireland was actually poked in the eye by a stripper’s stiletto heel. The stripper’s name was “Suki,” and her heal actually caused a lot of damage! According to an MSNBC report, the spiked shoe punctured his eye socket breaking bones around his eye and nose.
Ireland will suffer life-long double vision as a result of the lap dance injury. The strip club ended up settling out of court rather than going on to a trial with the injury lawsuit. The Cheetah Club was afraid that they would end up paying more damages in a trial.
$650,000 Lap Dance Injury Settlement Pleases Plaintiff
Ireland and his lawyers seem happy with the settlement. Ireland’s attorney Lake Lytal said, "When this case was first filed, many people criticized it simply because it occurred at a strip club. But we feel the $650,000 settlement goes to show that this was a serious case with serious injuries."
Ouch! This injury sounds like way more than an eyeful for Ireland. It is totally unfortunate. In the future, strip clubs may want to have their customers sign waivers to help avoid these types of liabilities. Perhaps the stripper shoe is too dangerous. Maybe they should wear flats instead.
