I dunno if we'll try the stream. As I said elsewhere, lets get one thing perfect at a time.

    Oh.

    Yeah.

    Uh

    I got that. ¬.¬

If you start streaming yourself at work, try to avoid all that porn you normally look up!

A stream would be sick but, as Doom said, perfect one thing before moving on to another. Plus the fact that anybody who wants to watch our matches live is probably gonna be there anyway.

Another addict is born. There probably will be hankies but only after Chopper makes his own way to Belfast having missed the train.

I'll be there when I'm there. Will most likely be anti-social and sleep on the train for a while.

Also, since my card hasn't arrived yet, I'll need to borrow some sterling off someone...I can give 50 euro for 40 sterling on the spot when we arrive, just checked it on XE.com for prices, it works out 50.00 EUR = 42.7959 GBP, which I think covers the cost up front for taking out sterling from an Irish card...

On the flyer, CXC was advertised as "Ireland's #1 fighting game event of the year". An ambitious goal, in light of some of the other events we've seen in 2010, but although there were negatives such as the late start to the BBCS tourney and the planned SSF4 three-on-three never getting off the ground, I've got to say that in my opinion CXC lived up to its billing.

I didn't enter SSF4 or T6 as the early part of my day was occupied by the GGXXAC side tournament; you can see how that went here. Also took part in Fight for the Cake and got to the quarter-finals.

Things really got interesting, though, when the BB tournament arrived. I got double-perfected by Tsukiko in my first group game, so I went into the game against Voa knowing I had to win or else, and I was not particularly optimistic about my chances. Win, though, I did, and the group would eventually finish with a three-way tie for the lead.

In my first playoff game against Voa he switched to Hazama after beating Tsukiko with his Tager. This caused something of a hold-up as Akodet - who was recording the results of our group - was unsure of whether this was within the rules. The game was allowed to continue, though, and I claimed victory again, albeit by a closer margin than last time.

This meant that if Tsukiko won the final playoff game against me, there would have to be another playoff as we would all have had one win each. There was no repeat of our earlier match, though, and Voa and I progressed.

Xinkai provided the opposition in my first top-eight match. This played out very much differently to our previous BBCS battles at Q-Con - he progressed with not a lot of difficulty. I then met Raymond Lau (brother of Simon) in the losers' bracket, losing to his Ragna. Something of an anti-climax, then, after the excitement of my group games.

Other highlights included Voa's amazing comeback against QMM, and the debut of commentary in the Irish FG scene - can't wait to see (and hear) the footage on YouTube.

In closing; GGs everyone, I hope to see you again next time.

    Interesting day.

Over all quite a fun day, prob need to keep an eye on scheduling a bit closer as I'm not a big fan of getting home after 2 am fom a tournament :D

Alot of stuff learned from the commentating (I'm having to raise the overall levels in post, although in most of them the commentary to game sound ratio is spot on), and Xinkai don't do that stuff comparing people to American players or describing them as "pioneers" again, it comes across REALLY cringeworthy!

I'm going to have to work with a couple of people to get them used to the mixing desk. It's quite easy to get confuzzled by it.

Anyway I an encoding the hypest moment of the day as we speak. I'll prob be asleep when it's done so it'll prob be tomorrow when it goes live.
