im am just wondering the best way to feed a light over the mirror in a bathroom taken from the lighting circuit or a feed from a rcd/rcbo

Typically it would be a live feed straight from the nearest live side of a switch.
It now depends on how you would like to control it, e.g if the over mirror light has a pull cord then a live feed (neutral + earth) will do as you will be controlling it from the pull cord.
If you want to have a switch outside the bathroom or the light you are installing does not have its own switch then it will be like an ordinary room switch.
You will break the live through the switch to the over mirror light.

All new lighting circuits in bathrooms must now be protected by rcd
try and get cable back to consumer unit and fit 10 amp rcbo
most lights will have pull cord to control switching
    remember safety first
    isolate power

are those chrome fittings allowed-they seem to be popular

they'd have to be connected to bonding system if so
