Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

If Stephen Ireland comes back to the international fold #565723

Okay, I admit not great timing to start a thread like this with club football just after resuming and not another serious international until March. But it's a question that has been nagging at me: supposing Stephen had a sudden rush of patriotism, would he actually get into the team? Would Trap change the rigid 4-4-2 system to accomodate a creative player of his talents?

We'll never be world beaters, however surely all of him, McCarthy, Fahey (all decent Premier League players) and maybe Andy Reid at his disposal would put a lot of pressure on Trap to change to a more expansive approach which would be more than capable of not having to cling on for the points (specifically referring to home matches).

So thats why he's asked him to return to the squad mulitple time since he's been in charge yeah?

And it's material waiting I'd say. We don't qualify for Euro 2012/ or put in a decenet fight through the playoffs = Trap's gone = Andy Ried, James McCarthy, Stephen Ward, Seamus Coleman etc all to be introduced to the squad.

Indeed. Whether or not he makes himself available he should never wear the green jersey again.

He had his chance now he can f*ck off

Wouldn't want SI playing for Ireland, if he starts playing well for Villa then i'd rather him staying in Brum and wrapped in (pink) cotton wool during international break, having Dunne playing through the pain barrier for ROI for the past few games is bad news for Villa.

    Trapp wouldn't start him anyway.
