Would a po stand up in court?

My husband is self employed and last year did work for a large well known building company. We had po's for all work completed. However they would not pay us and now that we have sent a court threat they have said that the jobs were over charged and they have come back stating that we owe them money! The fact that we have po's to the amounts that we invoiced would this stand up in a court against them?

Presuming the POs have the stated agreed costs on them and you can also demonstrate completion dockets signed by their reps you should have no problem. Things are tight all round and some companies are using bullying tactics to stall/get out of paying.

If the costs on the POs match the invoiced costs, then you have an argument that they agreed to the costs.

Really though, you need to seek legal advice on this one.

If the courts are already involved, then you're going to need a solicitor. Best to get legal advice ASAP.
