just painted our wooden back gate a gloss black and it looks terrible, what would be the best paint to go over the gloss?

Maybe one undercoat of grey gloss followed by another of ' good quality ' white gloss .

As with most paint suppliers they always have a suggested undercoat colour for the topcoat/gloss finish. Give it a really good sanding so u provide the undercoat with a good key to adhere to exsisting gloss. Then undercoat in grey (2 coats) and select your gloss finish colour and coat twice to get a great finish on the paint :)

Its the gloss finish i want to get rid of, theres to much of a shine and when it rains it looks kind of greasy.

    ok so,
1 undercoat followed by 2 coats of eggshell finish (semi-gloss)
