Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

plastering over air-tightness membrane

    Hi all,
I have air-tightness membrane wrapped around hollow-core that comes down around 130mm on inside leaf of some external walls. I want to seal this to the walls with scratch coat however I'm not sure the order in which to do this.

    This was my original proposal:
    - get plasterer to scud coat walls
    - chase walls and do electrical & plumbing first fix
    - get plasterer to put on scatch coat right up to hollow-core
    - install metal suspended ceiling (will take 1 day)
    - put up the plasterboards (will take another day)
    - get plasterer to put on finished skim coat on ceilings and then walls

However my plasterer is saying that it's better to put on finished skim coat as soon as possible after scratch coat and that leaving this for 2 days to allow MFC + Plasterboards to be fitted will result in scratch coat drying out too much.

Therefore this is what I'm now thinking:
    - get plasterer to scud coat walls
    - fix 50mmx25mm batten 150mm under hollow-core (MFC will be 175mm under hollow-core to allow for 150mm HRV ducting)
    - get plasterer to put on plaster coat between batten & hollow-core to seal membrane
    - chase walls
    - do electrical & plumbing first fix
    - install metal suspended ceiling
    - put up the plasterboards
    - get plasterer to put on scatch coat
    - get plasterer to put on finished skim coat on ceilings and then walls

Has anyone else had a similar problem sealing this membrane and if so what solution did you use?

    Thanks.
