I have been saying this for months now and just want to put it out there.

Not interested in slagging her policies just wanting to know if anyone would think I may be right?

    She's looking thiner alright

Why would you think that? If its because of lost weight I suspect it would be more likely from stress than a gastric band.
Its pretty major surgery for someone in the public eye that much.

What on earth makes you think that?

    Cut backs?;)

No, I don't think so. It's that "Ringo, circa '65" haircut (Albert, I believe George Harrison called it) that makes her look slimmer.

I noticed her loosing a severe amount of weight very very quickly. I am simply surmising based on the fact that she is not naturally a slim framed woman. I am not dissing her I am just wondering if anyone else thought that. Stress.. perhaps.. Biffo is obviously doing ok for that then

Maybe that she has lost a serious amount of weight in a very short time and is suddenly managing to sustain weight loss whereas up to now she has never been able to do this.
It is possible that she has hired a personal chef & fitness couch instead of having the stomach done

Thanks Mick - there is something going on anyway - no way you loose that much continuously . I mean I go to Weight Watchers - can't see her turning up there once a week can you? I imagine that she doesn't have than much time for excercise outside her busy schedule and there are probably alot of fancy dinners etc..

I dunno it has been in my head for ages now.

Well , she can certainly afford them, even the couch.:D

    Explain.

I'm not trying to say that she's an alcoholic, if that's what you mean.

I'm not saying that she's not either, though it might explain that new haircut.

The hairdresser may be an alcoholic. Or evil.

Sure yeah, sure. Do you really think we came down in the last shower? We know what you were getting at, you should at least have the balls to admit it.

We could call her MH, as in Minister for Health but they're also the initials for her name so it can be awkward, what a coincidence!!

The good thing about Mary Harney is that she makes even the fattest, ugliest cunts on the planet feel good about themselves.

For that reason alone, she serves at least some purpose in life.

They ran out of band doing her stomach.

If she was 9 stone she would still be a mank bucket.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,255 ✭✭✭✭The_Minister

    Two things:

    1. If you look back, this isn't the first time Harney has lost weight. She was on the way down when her mother died, and she shot back up.

    2. Seriously lads, you guys spend all day making fat jokes about her, and saying that she is a disgrace for being a fat Minister for Health, but then she does something about it and you all pile on to get a dig in?
    Make up your minds.

Not possible, it would need to several feet long to circumnavigate that mass!

I find a lot of the Harney jokes funny and non malicious, but yeah, good point.

    She's still fat.

And she is trying to lose weight, and apparently succeeding - why do people keep putting the boot in?

I've always maintained that her weight is irrelevant to the job she's doing, but if you insist on making it relevant, then is she not now leading by example?
    Fighting obesity etc?

Mary Harneys government jet got stopped last week by Customs. She was brought off the plane and strip-searched.

Apparently they found 10 pounds of crack.

Has to vouch for her expenses now.
She's not pregnant as far as we know and doesn't need to eat for two.
Plus FAS junkets have been cut back...
