So, it looks like I've lost my new phone. I'm wondering about a few things.

Is it possible for the operator (Meteor in this case) to locate the phone? My SIM appears to be no longer in use, but could it be done using the IMEI no. or GPS, which the phone has built-in. I'm guessing they'll only do this if there was a major crime involved, but is it worth asking.

Since I'm less than two months into my contract with Meteor, am I boned as far as getting a replacement phone for a similar price i.e. would I have to pay full-price if I wanted to get the same phone again?

Is it worth blocking the IMEI no., and if by some miracle at this stage it did turn up again, could I get it unblocked again?

    Thanks in advance.

I hope you've called meteor and suspended your account, If not do it right now.
Get down to a store for a replacement sim and they'll have you up and running shortly.

You'll probably have to buy a phone at pay as you go price if you have none, the sim card replacement is free.

You can get the phone blacklisted if you want. If you don't think you'll find it and it was stolen you should do it.

Is there any way of breaking a contract, out of interest?

Pay out the remaining term, monthly plan times the number of months left. They might let you switch to a lower tariff first, and then will be cheaper
