Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Recommended routes in Leitrim?

Heading to Leitrim (Drumshanbo) this weekend, thinking of trying to persaude the other half to bring the bikes.

Anybody got any suggested routes? Don't have a GPS so it'll be OS map-in-a-ziplock-bag + signposts - I'm sure I'll end up having an enjoyable cycle wherever I end up, but just thought I'd check if anyone has suggestions?

    Thanks

    Round Lough Allen. Beautiful.
If you want hills head over to Glangevlin in Cavan and up the Bellavalley Gap, or over to Agrigna. It is a great area for cycling with lots of great scenic routes and quiet roads. When I was living in Cavan riding down to Drumshambo, round the lake and home across the Gap was favourite training ride.

This is the basic ride but I often did slight route changes.

    I like this climb

Mind the sheep on the way down.

Yes. That is a great road when the weather is nice.

Live in South LM meself-that climb is on Sliabh an Iarann
Lap of Lough Allen would be a nice spin,or Drumbo-Dowra-Glangevlin-Ballinamore-Drumbo

I agree - a lap of Lough Allen. It's about 45km of rolling hills. No big climbs on that loop and the scenery is lovely and the roads are very quite.

It's virtually impossible to get lost too. Leaving Drumshanbo follow signs for Drumkeerin (approx 15km). From Drumkeerin follow signs for Dowra (approx 15km). And then from Dowra follow signs for Drumshanbo!
