Girlfried or Electric Blanket

This is meant as a lighthearted thread.

So, it is starting to get cold, and 'they' say that we are going to have a similar winter to last year - snow and all.

    So, my question is:

Should I get a girlfriend to keep me warm at night, or an electric blanket?

Both have benifits, and both have disadvantages.

An electric blanket will keep you warm at night, it does not care if you go to the pub to watch the game, or stay up late watching a movie - but, there are no other benifits in bed, except warmth.

A girlfriend has certain benifts other than just warmth, but might not be very happy when you tootle of to the pub to watch the game with your mates.

Girlfriend, totally. Benefits far outweigh the negatives and if they don't you could resort to the electric blanket and jilt her :p

    Why not have both?
have the lecky blanky switched on any night the lady isn't coming round and have it switched off any night she is round.
    Simples!

Or, leck blanky at home, and stay over at hers.
That way I won't have to worry about doing the hoovering. :p

I do not understand this thread.

    Human being > electric appliance

It depends which model of woman you get. Is she the kind that will cook and clean etc, aka the traditional model? Or is she one of these new brands who have delusions of equality, and thinks men should do these things themselves?

Sleep-wise an Electic blanket by a country mile. Everything else-wise a girlfriend definitely.

Twould have to be the girlfriend.Aside from the obvious reasons one of the best things about the girlfriend option is when you have to get up in the middle of the night to pee and yer feet get all cold.Hopping back into bed beside a warm body cant be topped!

Electric blanket, they are more reliable as you know they are always going to be warm, girlfriends can frequently be freezing cold to touch, coincidentally this is also when they feel the strongest urge to snuggle up to you, refusal results in much annoyance, I have never known an electric blanket to be annoyed at me for not wanting to snuggle it.

You can switch the blanket off.

I like a cold bed, too. In my house the wife wears so many clothes to bed that none of her heat is transferable. I keep telling her if she wears nothing or nearly nothing she'll end up a lot warmer. :D
