Jesus, you suck at posting The Muppet.

I would have thought someone of your reputation would have it down after all these years of hard work.

But thats awful stuff from you.

    There is no contradiction.

LL said in post one that Roy will earn his P45 himself ie: with **** performances & results.

Then in post 2 he says he thinks he will be gone in the summer (presumably the introduction of someone to oversee transfers at the club means the urgency to remove him asap rather than risk him signing more Poulsons is gone and it quite likely that NESV will be "quite" patient).

He then goes onto clarify that'll only change if we keep winning & playing well like we did yesterday. And if we do, he will be happy to admit he was wrong.

There is no contradiction there whatsoever.

    ****s sake. Try harder.

So 13 PL games down and you are 2 points off of 7th place which is what most people were saying they hoped for and expected. A steadying of the ship if you will.

Yes, too many of them tbh. Including your last six which iirc were 4 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss. And included a win over Chelsea last weekend.

Why is it that when a team wins, the majority of the credit goes to the players? (Chelsea)

Yet when a team underperforms, the manager bears the brunt of the stick? (Stoke)

We had 20 points at this stage last season and were 7th but that isn't the point.

    We'd scored 29 goals but conceded 20.

    It's scored 13 and conceded 17 now.

    Says it all really.

    Its about results not performances.

If a team gains 10 points from every 5 games they are going to have a very good season.

Kind of stating the obvious, but we haven't being doing that bar the last 5!

I'd say the next 5 will seal his fate either way, like Ince.

This season we have averaged 1.23 pts per game.

Extrapolated over 38 games that makes 46 points, 47 if you round up.

That's not even a good season for Fulham.

There's so many flaws in that argument one doesn't know where to begin. Bolton have averaged 1.46 points per game so far and extrapolated over 38 games that would make 55 points. I guess Bolton are therefore dead certs to be fighting for the European places by the end of the season?

Sack Hodgson and get Coyle in pronto!

A few weeks back, someone emailed me a list of Roy Hodgson’s PR gaffes, to put onto this site. I decided against using them, thinking it might be seen as unfair, but they do paint the picture of a man who underestimated the pressure at Liverpool FC, and who has looked hopelessly out of his depth.

There have been moments of good humour from the boss, but mostly it’s been spikiness and a desire to protect his own reputation before that of his players.

This is not intended as a personal attack, simply a demonstration of a man who appears to have bitten off more than he can chew.

I haven’t included his more recent gaffes; there appear to be enough here, in what was sent to me.

    29 July 2010 – “It’s a massive step up.”

30 July 2010 – “I don’t think I’ve ever said the squad is in need of a major overhaul,” said the boss. “We need to add one or two players to the team.

“It is important we keep the nucleus from last season and a nucleus of players who are maybe just behind the first team.”

    Contrast with:

    http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news/roy-reflects-on-summer-deals

9 September 2010 – “We should be very happy [with summer dealings].” “We were unbelievably overstaffed when I came to the club and, if the truth be known, we still are overstaffed.”

29 October 2010 – “There are a lot of things here that the club has got to get right. We have got a lot more expensive failures on our list than good players that we have brought in for next to nothing.”

10 September 2010 – “I preferred to put my weight behind David Ngog and Ryan Babel, who’s never really been given a proper chance at centre-forward at the club.” “We have Fernando Torres, we have good players who can play behind a lone striker.” “I will be using David Ngog and Ryan Babel in certain games to give Fernando Torres a rest and it’s up to them to prove to me that there’s no need to look further than them.” (Saying he didn’t regret not signing a striker in the summer.)

31 October 2010 – “A club like Liverpool shouldn’t have to rely on non-specialists like Dirk Kuyt or Ryan Babel ‘doing a job’ up front when they are primarily wide players.”

“In training, I can’t have practice games where each team plays a 4-4-2 because I don’t have the front players to do that.”

    * * *

    http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news/forget-man-city-warns-hodgson

It’s the first time we haven’t won one of these games but to be honest it would have been unfortunate for them if we’d won the game tonight. They would have felt hard done by. For me, a draw was a more than satisfactory result.” (After Utrecht 0-0. They’re not even in the top 100 European clubs by UEFA coefficient.)

“I hope that fair-minded people see the game the same way. I think it’s a bit unfortunate that after such a good game of football, everything revolves around the fact that Liverpool didn’t win it.”

“We didn’t score goals and Everton did but I refuse to accept that we were in any way outplayed or any way inferior. I watched the performance and the second half was as good as I saw a Liverpool team play under my management that is for sure.”

21 October 2010, responding to alleged interest from Manchester United in Torres – “With Torres, I think we will cross that bridge when we come to it,” said Hodgson. “There will always be speculation.

“When a great player like Wayne Rooney is looking to leave his club, Manchester United will be a position to target a lot of players around the world.

“I don’t think Fernando Torres will be the only striker they target and I don’t think that we will be the only club that will be worried their striker can be targeted.

“I am not naive to believe that there won’t be any danger and we will never lose a player like Torres.”

    * * *

“I hope we don’t get beaten too heavily” … before the friendly with Al Hilal

“I hope we don’t get beaten 6-0” … before the Man City game.

Do you think, Torres is more suiteable to playing alone, or with a striking partner?

    RH: “I don’t know.”

    Roy, Roy, Roy.

    just fúcking well go.

    that is all.

Pep despises your regime, which is enough for me to want you gone.

but there's so much more; all of which i've said before, and won't bother again.

the 'Gerrard Show' against Napoli bought you time off me. the Chelsea performance even more so.

but all of it just papers over enormous cracks.

you're still out of your depth. you're still a stopgap that hasn't succeeded. you still can't really get alongside Liverpool fans, and still manage to alienate them, probably without even realising it.

simply put, you're still not good enough, and if NESV can find that suitable manager who will start putting in place the pieces that will turn this club round, then you really need to go.

i have every faith that John Henry is not a stupid man, and can see that Hodgson is not the immediate future of this club, let alone anything close to a long-term future.

Fair enough, I always find the criticims a bit disproportionate, irrespective of club. A team wins and it's all "x played well" more than "the manager got it right".

Heard the performance was woeful yesterday but saw the highlights. Tbh two avoidable goals, horrible individual errors, Roy can't be blamed for that (though I accept that he is responsible for perhaps getting the team / tactics wrong).

A lot of people said that before the Wigan game. Wigan-Stoke-West Ham, and the maximum we can take is 4 points.

As always, the opinion of opposition fans / people not watching the games closely are utterly irrelevant. Just finished watching the full 90 minute horror show there.

We'll have a new manager by next summer at the very latest. Hodgson has been shown up for what he is: a journeyman with a patchy record lacking the necessary skills to succeed at the very highest levels of the game. Cool - like Staunton, I don't blame him for accepting the job offer.

At the risk of labouring the point: the disparity of the press reaction to Hodgson's performance in contrast to their assessment of Benitez is utterly disgraceful. The English football media are xenophobic fools.

Hodgson continues to dig his own hole.
