    I wish you luck!

    I ordered the previous Tuesday

First of all, the confirmation email didn't list the shipping company so I couldn't trace. When they eventually confirmed that it was UPS, I found that the tracking number they sent had been truncated and didn't register with UPS

A full week had gone by - time to ring them
After 100 minutes of music on hold I gave up and opted to leave a voicemail - Mailbox Full!!!

I called the main number again and got through to the business section where somebody eventually agreed to take my details and escalate the matter. That was the last I heard from that

1 day later and on the phone again - got a real person who acknowledged that the tracking number was incorrect but could not tell me the proper one - internal inquiry needed

This morning, for the first time, THEY initiated the call, only to confirm the previous evening's conversation. - more internal inquiry needed + a promise of a call back or email. Needless to say, no response since

At this point I've had enough and think that, even if it arrived this minute, I would just RMA it back to them. I feel that if a company are so inefficient when selling something, they are hardly likely to be much help if I am looking for warranty service later

    As I said, Good Luck!
Strangely I arrived home to find the laptop waiting for me, it had been delivered today but not by UPS. I was thrilled, but then opened the box to find its a 4 cell battery, and not the 6 cell battery It had said in the description when I ordered it... It now says 4 cell for the U450 and U350 on the website, not the 6 cell, and I cant find anywhere where it shows the specs at the time of my order... what comeback have I? :(

If they do agree to change it, will I need to send back the whole laptop??

This is infuriating, as 4 cell is useless to me as im a college student and cant be looking to charge it every 2 hours...

My boss ordered one a week ago. They rang the office and I confirmed the shipping address.

A week later, still nothing so he checked his account and it was still "In Progress"... they'd no phone number so he e-mailed them and they said due to a technical order, his order wasn't shipped, and they'd get it out to him ASAP.

    Bit odd!

Did he get sorted in the end? how long was he waiting?

I'm thinking about ordering one of these as a Christmas present but some of the posts here are kind of putting me off a bit.

Yeah, he got it. Probably was waiting almost 3 weeks between ordering and it arriving.

    Ah yeah.. no hassle.

Just keep an eye on the order. And if it hasn't been despatched within 5 working days, e-mail them.

Guys what kind of battery life are you looking at on Lenovo S12 with a 6 cell. I am guessing roughly 4 hours? Much lower than your smaller screen netbooks.

    Thanks

The majority of netbooks come with a 3 cell battery as standard.

I'm not sure but I'd say you'd get more than 4 hours on a 6 cell version of this. I doubt the bigger screen would make that much of a difference to power consumption.

My 10.2 inch Samsung got roughly the same as my HP mini, the later having a bigger screen.

Hi I bought one of these netbooks, delighted with the price and design my only concern is that everytime a page loads I get scoll lag. In general I've found it very laggy, especially when trying to view videos. Its not my internet connection as I've tried it with a few. I was just wondering has anyone else had the same experience, is it normal? I know its only a netbook but surely I should be able to load a website without lag or watch a normal youtube cli without it being totally choppy? Thanks for any input.

Purchased the S12 for €259 last week on the Lenovo site. I received an email from Lenovo saying that it had placed on backorder, meaning its out of stock and they will ship it when its back in stock. I've emailed twice and rang once, on hold for ages. I need it delivered in time for Xmas and I can't get an answer off them. Thats nearly 10 days ago now.

    Joke

Turn off the unnecessary eye candy, transparency, aero etc. then set visual effects to 'adjust for best performance' if you still have problems I imagine its an nvidia driver issue, have you tried the latest driver theres one from 25th of october.

I ordered mine on the 22nd, and I'm still seeing this "order in process" lark. I know Christmas will mean it takes a bit longer, but when would be reasonable to start e-mailing if they don't ship?

I love Lenovo machines but I hate their tracking process. In my experience the tracking has two stages: 1) In Progress 2) in your hands. Just email them, they're usually quite responsive.

I'm on a netbook myself and had the same problem with firefox. I'm using Chrome now, and it works perfectly.
Its a much lighter browser and takes up less space on screen.

Sounds like the graphics driver or graphics may not be up to date. Look for the updater somewhere on the machine, should download the latest patches and bits for everything.

The processor is a little old, but its grand for browsing, so you shouldn't have stutter at all, and with your ION chip you can watch high quality stuff too.

If the patches aren't working, then switch to chrome, its less bloated and much snappier than firefox (which i love but jeez it sucks memory)

If you have some spare time, its no harm at all to check up on the lenovo s12 forums.. should be lots of nice hints and tips in there.
