Here is a reply from a Sky TV representative in regards to numerous posts made on the official Sky TV Forum in regards to Sky carrying the WWE Network in 2012...

Welcome to the Sky Help Forum. Many WWE fans are excited at the news of the WWE Network however there are no such plans for this to launch outside the US at present and the WWE Network will not be available to Sky TV subscribers.

I'm afraid we have no information on the WWE Network, however WWE programming will continue to be carried on Sky Sports channels as per the existing agreement we have in place with the WWE.

Any queries regarding the WWE Network would need to be directed to the WWE.

Upon the launch of the WWE Network in April 2012, WWE's current Pay Per View offerings are planned to see a switch to that network. According to a report by The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, business will remain the same January-April with WWE providing the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber and Wrestlemania 28 on PPV. Events from April through December (not including SummerSlam in August and Survivor Series in November) will run on the WWE Network. For those unable to get the new WWE Network, the company will still provide the events on PPV for $44.95. One example cited was the launch of the NFL Network and running football games on Thursday night forcing customers to create a demand for the channel on other cable providers. The hope is that by WWE pushing these "B" PPV events to the network that it will cause an increase in clearance based on customer demand.

It's an awesome idea I think. They don't just own the WWE archives they own the archives for many defunked organizations which could make for some good day and night time watching. Maybe some Smokey Mountain, old OVW etc. during the day and ECW at night.

If you were in America also you'd be getting at least 4 PPVs included in the package and they seem to be the traditional big 4. Some of the shows actually sound really good. Throw in Tough Enough once it's run it's course on Network television. I loved TWC when it was on Sky and found myself watching it a lot so if I had the option I probably would pay for this.

I'd like to see them show the 12-15+ stuff after 10. But it'll never happen. :(

Its WWE desperately trying to jump on the dubstep bandwagon. About 2 years late with that, and a year late with that Skrillex remix...twas horribly overplayed last summer.

But id expect a lot of the wrestling super nerds have never heard of skrillex or even a dubstep track before so it will work for them I suppose.

I thought it was just Jim Johnston trying to be edgy or whatever, didn't know it was an actual song. Admittedly I've never heard of Skrillex (sounds like a Middle Eastern Oil company) but if that's what the John Cena PG audience are listening to these days then understood why they are using that.

What's wrong with a good old bit of Creed, Saliva or Limp Bizkit :p

    Yup its a real song

The states has finally caught up to the UK in terms of dubstep and its very big over there now with the teen crowd, its replaced new metal like it was used by wwe when we were growing up during the late 90's/early 00's.

I get what you mean though. No dubstep track would suit a wrestling promo like the my way promo from WM 17.

That music (if you can even call it that) is horrific

Calling it dubstep is even a mockery to true UK dubstep from years ago and to an extent, today. Skrillex and the likes are commercialised pop dubstep that needs to be as loud as possible and that the americans lap up!

    Not so much over here.

Someone once described every dubstep song as a few minutes of womp womps followed by Optimus prime taking a dump.

WWE always had fairly poor music choices bar a few exceptions. It's usually dumbed down commercial rock music but over the last while they really seem to have gone down the lowest common denominator route with poppy and now dubstep songs.

ECW was always ahead of the curve in that respect I think, it introduced to bands like Rage Against the Machine and Limp Bizkit as well as Metallica. Great times.

This could be interesting just to see who WWE would sign.

WWE is developing a new series for their fledgling Network that would exclusively feature Cruiserweight style wrestlers, PWInsider.com has confirmed.
As we noted several months ago in the PWInsider.com Elite section, WWE had been compiling a list of Cruiser-sized talent that they could bring in. The list was as part of the development of this potential series.

WWE has started to reach out to a number of independent talents in recent weeks. The belief among those I spoke with is that the company is looking for talents to be in the 200 lb. range.

When and how the show would be shot I haven't confirmed, but WWE is interested in the Sunlife University's gym facility in Florida, where they shot several test pilots. WWE officials loved the state of the art look of the building.

WWE is planning a Fall debut for their Network.

    Ba-Bump

During a presentation at the UBS Global Media conference, WWE CFO George Barrios addressed various financial aspects of the company going forward including the proposed WWE Network.

A full transcript can be read at Seekingalpha.com. Quotes/highlights are courtesy of Prowrestling.net.

"We just believe there is too much there potentially not to keep pushing at it. The drag on earnings is painful. It's painful to investors. It's painful to us but we just believe payoff could be too large so we are going to continue to push on that.

Wherever the video is being monetized, we see that the real opportunity. We see growth there. Very high operating margins because we create our content once and then monetize it in a variety of those different platforms and also we have the ability to mine a significant library.

There will be powerful, compelling exclusive original content that will be the core because otherwise people aren't going to either watch it in the numbers you want or pay for it if you go that model. But we can wrap around some very fresh, compelling content that's created from our 100,000 hour library. So for example, one of the shows that's in production right now and it's tested really, really well in our focus group is the Monday Night Wars. It will be an episodic series, number of episodes be determined but somewhere between 10 to 15 episodes that looks at the year 2000 and 2001 battle between Ted Turner and Vince McMahon when they were on competing networks fighting for audience.
