Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

If you use it regularly, it will prob come back to you after going through the motion of inserting card, entering PIN.

Just give up after two attempts else it'll block and you're screwed anyway.

If you scratch the CHIP on the front it cannot be read which means they have to manually enter the card details. This should mean you can sign.

BTW Its fvcks up your card and you will need a new one which normally costs €10 to replace.

Almost certain to remember it if he just walks to cash point as normal, takes out card, puts in slot ...and hey presto just like magic the brain kicks in.

I used to have a pin for swipe card to get thru security doors at work. hadnt used it for nearly a year and when i arrived at the door a number came into my head (which didn't even seem familiar !!) and it worked:D

The cash back thing is also good if they will accept your sig instead of pin

You can borrow mine, its: ****

As already said the pattern is easier to recall than the numbers.

  • Registered Users Posts: 972 ✭✭✭moco

I tried going to the cash machine, put in 2 different numbers which were both wrong. :(

It's a new card I only used a couple of times about 2 months ago.

I'll just have to hope places will let me sign tonight!

Is it a bank account or credit card? Can you withdraw the money over the counter if it's the former.

And always use 0000 as a pin. It's double-bluff especially if written on your wrist in biro as nobody will think anybody could be dopey enough to actually mean it.

If you have internet banking set up you can transfer cash from your credit card to your normal bank account.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,821 ✭✭✭phill106

Go to the bank, with some photo id. Get pin reset.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,789 ✭✭✭✭ScumLord

Like every one says go to the hole in the wall, I forgot mine while paying at a till had to go outside and it popped back into my head at the ATM, whatever you do don't try to remember numbers.

I don't think I can! I can only transfer to my card, not from it..

OP just go into the bank with ID and you can take the money out.

Some internet banks will allow you to view the pin online, one digit at a time.

That’s the way I remember most phone numbers :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,015 ✭✭✭CreepingDeath

Drill a small hole in the card and tie a string to it.

If the ATM tries to swallow the card, you can simply pull it out and try another pin number.

  • Registered Users Posts: 972 ✭✭✭moco

I rang them up, the only way to get a new pin is to request one by post or at the cash machine, for which you need your old pin..

I can't transfer money out of my credit card, only into it.

Oh well, it'll be a quiet weekend for me

how often do you use it? like, is it a pin you used to know, and are just drawing a blank, or did you never really know it. If its the former, you have a chance..
