Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

These documents are 10 years old, what relevant information could they possibly provide to an insurgency that has already fairly much wound down?

One one website I'm on, people have correlated instances of RPG-29 attacks on M1 Abrams as recorded by released Jihadist videos (complete with date stamps in the corner) with the information in the leaked releases. From that, they have ascertained where on the tank the RPG needs to be aimed to be able to kill or wound tankers vs M-Kill vs no effect. Information which would certainly not have been available to anyone prior to that.

There is no reason to believe that the same system can be used to determine the size of a bomb needed to cause casualties in any particular sort of vehicle, for example.

    On the other matter..

I don't expect Wikileaks to release Iranian documents. Not because they don't want to, but it's kindof hard to get them. PFC manning is likely to face a year or two in prison, and a dishonourable discharge. The penalty for such leaks in Iran is such that it likely makes quite the disincentive to release them.

All this talk about 'Iranian' Documents that should be released is confusing me somewhat.

DO the Iranian Government/Military/Intelligence agencies have an active involvement in either Iraq or Afghanistan, Besides the Tenuous links being made by the Hawks and apologists??

Cos From what I can gaterh if there was ANY form of even circumstantial evidence of a link the US Media would be all over it like "Man Juice on Jenna Jameson"

However it seems to be as rare as instances of the Aforementioned Juice Blanketing Mary Harney

No because to do so would be to ignore the reality of what they did. They released documents during an ongoing war that can provides the forces who opposes the coalition troops of a means to a better progranda war and an insight into the tactics of their enemy.
    That's wrong, simple as.
    .

For one thing, you presume theres tactics in there. Secondly, why shouldn't they release them, even if it did give an advantage to one side?

Wikileaks has an editorial board and they should have at the very least withheld this information until the either
    (a) the war was over
    or
    (b) they were going to release information on both Opposing forces simultaneously.
    .

What "oppossing forces"? Militias, tribesmen, terrorists and Iran? An impossible task. And again, why should they withold anything.

Instead they chose to interfere in an active war. Regardless of how omniscience or impartial you may be once you start interfering in another person's war you run the great risk of sliding down a slippery slope. Rendering point B somewhat dodgy too.

O Jaysus forbid somebody pass comment on the private party....
