Navigaton problem

Hey guys,

I'm having a problem with Google Navigation on my Hero.

When I go in, the GPS finds my location, but when I go to directions, the GPS won't update, and the step by step directions stay on the original location.

It just occurred to me, would it have anything to do with how accurate the GPS is? It won't get in anymore than 3000 metres.

Ideas and suggestions on a postcard to...

3000 metres? Sounds like your GPS isn't actually switched on, and it's just getting your location from wireless network or cell tower. Download the "GPS Test" app from the market and run it, make sure it actually gets your location

Cheers, i'll give that a go.

It happened randomly after I went to VR10, up to VR12 now, and still acting the buck.

I rarely use it, TBH, but I'd prefer it was working, and not needed, rather than needed and not working.

Now, when I try GPSTest, its showing me that no sat's are in view.

Ideas?

When you open up "Settings -> Location & Security", I assume "Use GPS Satellites" is ticked? When you start GPS Test, are you outside? Does the 'In View' number never go above zero?

Yup, Use GPS is checked on.

Outside, clear sky, GPSTest on, no Sats in view.

No idea what it could be so, it doesn't look like the GPS is working at all. Factory reset maybe (after backing up all your data)?

Found a fix for this, if anyone is interested. Reinstall latest radio. Apparently the VillianRoms can get a bit funny with the radio occasionally.

Will try this at some stage over the next week, and will report my findings.

Confirmed that this fix works. Satellites being found now.
