Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    .
    Dear Cyclist,

What is the future of urban cycling? This is the intriguing question that Dr. Peter Cox from Chester University will explore on Tuesday 2nd November at 7pm in the Greenhouse in Dublin. The DCC is delighted to welcome Peter to speak in Dublin. He has a wealth of experience in the areas of social change, sustainability and the history of cycling technologies, and we are sure the event will attract cycling advocates, academics, transport and planning professionals and the general public.

Dr. Cox’s presentation will provide a broad historical and comparative overview of the development of cycling in a UK and global context. He will comment on the range of initiatives and struggles to work out what might be best to safeguard and support cycling in contrasting contexts. He will consider the interplay between cycling technologies and infrastructure, and explore the question: how do we ensure that we are planning and building for the future and not the past?

A copy of the poster and further details of the event are available here: www.dublincycling.ie/node/675
