I've never actually seen Lupin, but Nausicaa is an awesome choice for 2nd. It's one of my favourite films ever. I'm surprised not to see Spirited Away on that list though.

Lists like these are always, erm...'eccentric'. Lupin is good, but it's no Nausicaa. Nor Spirited Away. Nor Laputa, nor...you get the drift.

Yea, I would've placed Laputa higher than 10th aswell.

At some point it would just be Top 10 Miyazaki films and Spirited Away had a much larger impact outside of Japan, not sure about you lot but it was my first Studio Ghibli film

Also there are dozens of lupin films and specials as well as hundreds tv episodes, lupin is probably my favourite anime character of all time and as it's started in 1967 every judge spent most of their life seeing it.

Akira is on a list of good films.

    All credibility has been lost.

Summer Wars is there but not The Girl Who Leapt Through Time? No Makoto Shinkai films? Crap list.

My favourite film is missing. What a terrible list.

    Joking aside, Lupin is great.

Wait... No Naruto, of any kind? I mean, it's only had about 400+ episodes and 6 feature length movies, I figured the Japanese, of all people, would have added it to their list... *shrugs* oh well, Ghost In The Shell was fantastic... I hafta agree that The Nightmare Before Christmas should be in the top 2 and Perfect Blue was good, weird, but good... :)

My reaction when I started reading through this thread:

    stfu_noob.jpg

    Naruto? BLEACH?
    GTFO

Also, the number '9' is taboo in Japan( as is '4') so it gets left off lists.

4 is on this list, but 9 is worse than 4 kinda.

bingo would suck in Japan, 49 die with pain.
