    Hi everyone.

I don't have any kids myself, I have two outrageously amazing nephews and two friends with three children between them.

I'm in college and really don't have the time to spend with them at the moment (which is killing me but whatever). I've come up with the idea of throwing a little party for them some afternoon before christmas and would love to hear any ideas you may have.

There will be one six-year-old boy, one four-year-old boy, one three-year-old girl, one one-year-old boy and one eight-month-old girl.

Obviously the two smallies won't give a crap but I'd like to make it special for the older ones (and the grown-ups!)

I'm thinking of having nice decorations and a tree with prezzies underneath for them all.

Some nice snacks and sweets and maybe a christmas dvd?

Is there any good games I could organise for the three older ones?

It's still very much in the planning stages.

Oh yeah, I'm not going to tell any of the parents about this. I'm going to send special invitations in the post to the children inviting them to a secret christmas party. :)

Sorry for the long post, please reply if you can think of anything I can try. Also gift ideas are welcome, I'm not going to go overboard, just some small nice things.

Storytime with a nice Christmassy story, (the night before Christmas is a good one.)
    decorating cookies or cupcakes
arts and crafts, there are millions of Christmassy art ideas.
Party games, musical statues, chairs, bumps with Christmas music, pass the parcel,

Loving those ideas . . . screw the dvd, this is going to be a lovely, special, intimate party :)

    Please keep the ideas coming!

I saw a set of Dr Oetker, make your own chocolate christmas-tree decorations in Superquinn, going to pick up a couple of those. It comes with a little red icing gun thing that you decorate the chocolates with. (I am such a kid)

Just one or two things off the top of my head. It might be an idea to tell the parents first, just to make sure they're down with it, and tell them to keep quiet about it. Unless you know they'll be okay with it I guess :)

You could do some sort of Christmas Arts and Craft, perhaps make an angel for the top of the Christmas tree (or a star) using any manner of equipment, and there's a ton of ideas here. I particularly like this Christmas Wreath. Or an easier one here.
