Should we ban miniskirts?

    From http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-11617091

Mini-skirts have been deemed as anti-social behaviour by an Italian Mayor so do Ah'ers think they should be banned in Ireland also?;)
    bbc wrote:
A seaside city in Italy is planning to ban miniskirts and other revealing clothing to improve what the mayor calls standards of public decency.

Castellammare di Stabia is trying to be the latest location in Italy to make use of new powers to crack down on what is deemed to be anti-social behaviour.

Mayor Luigi Bobbio said the regulations would help "restore urban decorum and facilitate better civil co-existence".

Offenders would face fines of between 25 ($35) and 500 euros ($696).
    'Right decision'

"Nothing too revealing" is the new policy Mayor Bobbio wants to enforce, says the BBC's Duncan Kennedy in Rome.

That means a tough new dress code which would effectively outlaw everything from miniskirts to low-cut jeans when people walk around Castellammare di Stabia, our correspondent adds.

Should mini-skirts be banned? 266 votes

Once you dont have MASSIVE thighs with countless amount of dimples, which you dont wear tights/long socks to distract from, which i saw last saturday in town then miniskirts = mandatory imho. :D

Miniskirts can give you an ass, so imho there my best friend! :)

No, mini skirts shouldn't be banned but some women should be banned from wearing them. I've got muscular thighs from playing sport for most of my life but even I have slimmer legs than the tree trunk-thighed women that I see wearing minis.

Some minimum standards should be enforced - like thigh measurement and leg length, and shop assistants should be encouraged to be suitably rude to the fat girls who want to buy minis. Actually, on further thought, minis shouldn't be manufactured in any size larger than 14!

Fat mingers shouldn't wear them, or women with pencil legs.

I don't wear skirts, but no they shouldn't be banned!
If someone has great legs, they should be able to show them off.

What is classified as a mini-skirt?

When I wore mini-skirts in the 80s/90s, they only exposed my knees. Other mini-skirts show up to mid-thigh, others reveal bum cheeks (not for me, thank you!)

I know they come in all lengths, but where will this dress code draw the line?

    I'm Atari Jaguar on this.

As long as she wears one in the comfort of her own home at night with the lights switched of, that would be fine by anyone with any taste.

Somone needs to ban Italian politicians from having stupid opinions.

I didn't see any where in that article where the reasons that they're considered anti-social was expanded upon....this old c*nt is just pissed that he's not getting any...

What about tourists who come to the area and are wearing mini-skirts...will they get fined too or is it only for local people?
Are short dresses also included in this??

    Or shorts.

Let them bare flesh I say, big or small. Just to spite the little jobsworth who came up with the daft idea in the first place.

(and to give all red blooded males something to gawp at.)

This just can't be right, an Italian would never say such a thing, are they sure they heard him right? He was more than likely talking about getting a fan to blow up miniskirts.

    You know what i hate.
    Miniskirts with leggings.
Have we had this conversation before?
Leggings that look like tights but aren't.
And then i wonder why should it make any difference.
    But it does.

My girls love wearing that combo! And I am only too delighted as they are only 7 and 3...
