Does anybody know of any hotel / restaurant in Waterford City / County who are serving Christmas Dinner. Myself and the other half don't feel like cooking dinner this year and feel like going out instead. I have tried a search on the internet but nothing is showing up for Waterford.

We've done the relatives thing and the stay at home on our own thing, we're looking for something different for a change.

Thanks for the info South, will look into that one.

€100 though?!! I know it's Christmas and they have to make it worthwhile opening...I'm sure the food is good quality too but that is way over the top.

    I'll feed you for €70...:D

It is truly insane money but you'd hope staff are on double time at least so I can't say I blame them for that. I have never had Christmas dinner out there but I have had the barfood and al la carte many times over the years and I really dud enjoy both.

For Christmas Day I would be looking for at least triple time.

I was thinking of doing the same and emailed all the big hotels in Waterford City and none of them are opening. The Granville replied and said the nearest hotel to open last year was one of the hotels in Kilkenny.....

    Does it really matter?

Non catholics / people from the UK or different countries do not celebrate Stephens day.

    So stop being no close-minded.

Do Catholics celebrate it as a religious day? I've never known any to. It's just the name on the day here. Just like it is named Boxing Day in the UK and there is no name on it in much of the world. It's not about being closed minded. It's just the given name in this country.

My point was if somebody wants to celebrate that day with whatever name it is up to them.
