Are there any exercises anyone could recommend to do with our son to help deal with his stammer. ST isn't starting till January and I'd like to be doing something now
    Thanks

I realise causes vary but here's my tuppence... if he's an introverted or sensitive personality I would gently find out what is going on in school or with his bunch of friends as his self-confidence might have been dealt a blow and he might be in need of comforting and reassurance of his abilities etc.

Thanks. It's been a 'big' year for us with the arrival of his new sister in February. We adopted her and she's 3 now so she's a big presence in the family all at once. He was the only child before that. I'm sure that this is a contributing factor.

There is some good info here:
    http://www.stutteringhelp.org/Default.aspx?tabid=151

Also there is a Parents support group run by the ISA (Irish Stammering Society) if you check on their website. www.stammeringireland.ie

Also check out the BSA (British Stammering Association website). Lots of info there for parents.

And especially check out Michael Palin Centre in the UK has a website (it's a specialist centre for children who stammer):
    http://www.stammeringcentre.org/

    Good luck with it.
