Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone think Ashley Cole should be on the list?

If the World Cup hadn't happened he certainly would be, just as Gyan certainly wouldn't.

Cole is a good shout actually.

He has been sensational for the last 18months or so.

no player who didn't have a decent World Cup should be in the running.
I'll take it from the fact that you didn't mention him that you don't think Messi had a decent World Cup? He wasn't as sensational as some claimed at the time but I don't think it should count against him to the point of not being considered.

Look at you all magnanimous :) In fairness, he's been great. As someone else said, he might have made it if England's WC hadn't been so ordinary.

Walter Samuel was Inters best player by a country mile last season. How The worlds most overy rated center back EVER is on that list and Samuel, Juan, Lucio and Pique aren't is such a msytery.
Ha! I went back to the list to see who you were talking about and only then saw Puyol is in it. What a joke.

who thought fúcking it up with Cheryl Tweedy would make things better?

since that shít hit the fan he's been pretty much the best attacking full-back in world football.

Would you prefer the former or the latter though...:)

Muller as said in vote thread. Golden boot at the World Cup can usually be a good bet and he was very impressive at Bayern before the world cup. Great goal in the first game this season in a horrendously misfiring side (lowest scorers in the Bundesliga) this season too.

    Sneijder or Xavi or Iniesta

Messi just didn't cut it this year. He will win it again so no worries.
Ronaldo. Coming good now but not good enough for most of the year & WC.
Schweinsteiger/Mueller? Yes they were good but others were better.
Rooney. You're having me on now are you? He's brutal since April how could he even get a mention?

Maybe that's where Rooney went wrong ??
