Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi ,

I'm getting a new PC for Xmas and was just wondering how would games like Fallout NV , GTA 4 etc.. run with the specs and the ATI graphics card .

    Specs :
AMD athlon II 250 3.0GHz Processor
    4GB 1333Mhz DDR3 Ram
    500GB HD
    ATI Radeon HD 4350 1GB

Running with Vista Home Premium 32-Bit

    Thanks.

the pc itself is fine but if you want to game then it always comes down to the graphics card and that one ain't great

it was a budget card 2 years ago and will be pushed to play anything modern without having low settings if even
if you can try and upgrade to a better card or sell that one and buy something else like a 5770

    Thanks for the info.

A friend of mine bought an ATI Radeon 5750 HD 1GB and plays Fallout NV with Ultra settings and gets very high FPS , I think i'll be buying that instead

I have the 5770 and it runs great, great. Your other specs seem perfectly fine.

    Thanks for the reply ,

So here's the final list :
    2.7 Ghz Processor
    4GB DDR3 Ram
    500GB HD
    Sapphire HD5750 1GB

My friend has that setup and runs fallout NV at Max and enjoys high FPS , how would the likes of GTA 4 run with that setup?

    Thanks

    What CPU is that?

GTA IV is heavy enough and poorly optimised on the PC. It runs best on fast quads and likes a lot of VRAM.

If that CPU is the old (OEM) X3-425 all is good, that budget CPU still has plenty of grunt :) But GTA4 and other console ports can't really handle a CPU with less than three cores nowadays... :o

Its an AMP Sempron 140 - Single core , although its meant to be a Dual core with one disabled . Many people who have over clocked it have got it at 3.5Ghz .. Lots of good reviews too

    Single core.... oh dear.
Have a look at the budget gaming system over in building and upgrading.
Solitaire will sort you out! :D

I reccomend at least a Dual Core, preferably a Quad Core, and a Hexacore if youre insane like me. Or a Xenon setup if you're insane like a special breed of insane people.
