Is "Tom" from Father Ted a traveler?

    I was watching "And God Created Woman" today and when Ted crashes into the back of a car a man gets out and punches him. He is dressed roughly as if to signify a traveller I think. (Watch the episode)

    But getting back to Tom, he talks in a bit of a different accent compared to the rest of the island, murdered a man once and robbed the post office (a view of Travelers that they are a violent people). It got me thinking.

    What are yer opinions?

    Nah.

    If Ted had crashed into a traveller, the traveller would have coerced Ted into hitting him so he could add facial injury to the accident claim.

    When you see how funny Pat Short was in his earlier stuff it's hard to understand how he's progressed to his recent stuff which is appalling, how anyone finds it funny is beyond me.
