Oops i misread the thread yesterday with my other post, my FIRST jersey would have been this United one, had it with Cantona 7 on the back too. I can't remember for certain if it was exactly this black one though, it was a long time ago. I remember it had a string at the front V and when i lost the string i cried for days. thankfully i've grown out of my Man U supporting days and support proper teams now that i'm bigger, i also had a framed photo of Cantona just in the usual red United top that i used to bring everywhere to show people, i usee to bring it with me when i was going to the shop all the time

Actually, I just remembered that I had a jersey before the United ones. My cousin gave me his Sligo Rovers jersey when I was a kid. I don't know the year, sometime in the late 80s/early 90s.

No pictures of it, but it was Rovers' home jersey about 1991 in the RDS when I was mascot and got to keep the jersey. Think it was Powers Gold Label as sponsors.

I am now envious as my brother got the Lifestyle jersey of the 80s.

I had that Utd jersey too...loved it.
I remember buying the full kit with my Dad for my birthday, boxed in a presentation kit, from a bicycle shop somewhere around Ringsend! ..seemed perfectly logical at the time:D

Yeah, it really did, was a great addition to the jersey. Was more than just a sponsor. The yellow puddle of puke on the latter was a poor substitute.....
