For funsies I decided to give Paddy Power €100 but I'm going to slowly pay him by using every casinos favourite word 'Martingale'.

Briefly, the Martingale system is traditionally used in even money games such as roulette. You bet a set amount each time you win and double it as you lose so as to win your losses back along with some profit. eg bet 1 lose 1, bet 2 lose 2, bet 4 win 4.

I will be aiming to win €1 with every bet (the profit is small to try and have some longevity). The odds will be varied but probably short as I will try to win often, so I might put €0.50 on a 2/1 shot or €5 at 1/5.

This thread will probably be short as I will eventually lose!!!!

    Bet 1:

    Bank; €100

    Stake; 3.74 @ 4/15 Miami Heat

Miami Heat play away to Philadelphia 76ers which on paper should be a walk in the park for Miami as they're packed full of marquee players. Although Miami lost their opening match, it should be the kick in the ass they needed to win in Philly.

What stake are you placing? Hardly the full €100?

    It's up now 3.74 wins 4.74, €1 profit.

They will win comfortably. -7.5 @ 10/11 for me.

I backed it on PP about 5 minutes after the game had started(opened my eyes to a world of in-play betting). They gave me 10/11 on -8, so was a bit worried it would end in a tie but they won by 10.

    Bet 2:

    Bank; €101

    Stake; 3 @ 1/3 15:40 Lingfield Baila Me

This system is a waste of time

What gave you that impression??? Perhaps the title of the thread or the fact I said in my first post I will lose.

1/3 was the price for a place, I was in a rush at lunch and never posted it. The horse won at 5/4.

2 bets in and I'm already bored of it, evens or better from now on.

    Bet 3:

    Bank; €102

Stake; 1 @ evens Real Sociedad v Almeria, Time of First Goal After the 27th minute

    Late goals all the way.

Plenty of late goals, but 1 early one.

I'm going to stick to evens markets because there's fcuk all maths involved.

    Bet 4:

    Bank; €101

Stake; 2 @ evens Bayern Munich v Freiburg, Half Time Double Chance, Freiburg and draw

Bayerns odds in this match are way too stingy. Bayern aren't scoring too much recently and Freiburg have a decent away record.

Haha, I love this line :D

Good luck with the log. As you admit I reckon you'll eventually go busto but hopefully you get a good run and a bit of craic out of it.

Cheers, I'm certain I'll lose soon enough but if I can catch a bit of a run I'll increase my stakes and speed up my inevitable downfall. :)

    Bet 5:

    Bank; €99

Stake; 4 @ evens Chelsea + Real Madrid double

Both away but playing teams they should be beating.

    Bet 6:

    Bank; €103

Stake; 1 @ evens Villa v Birmingham, Time of First Goal After the 27th minute

I think this will be a slow start to the match with goals in the second half.

    Bet 7:

    Bank; €102

Stake; 2 @ evens Bursaspor v Manu, Time of First Goal After the 27th minute

  • Registered Users Posts: 92 ✭✭jolsen

    Bet 8:

    Bank; €104

    Stake; 5 @ evens L'pool v Chelsea, over 2.5 goals

I have no enthusiasm for this log, minimum stake is now €5.

    Bet 9:

    Bank; €99

Stake; 10 @ evens Man City v Man Utd, 60 points or more (card index)Evening ko Manchester derby, fouls aplenty.
