Were Sligo paid for Horgan by Cork? Any idea of figures?

Also any Shams lads shed some light on the "Boardwalk Bloc" group? New Ultras group or just a faction within SRFC Ultras?
There's definitely an increased scum element in the East Stand. The last game of the season v Galway was embarrassing.

Supposed to be just another group within the SRFC Ultras lads, Gav.

    Voltwad, what was embarrassing?

Looks like its just another shamrock group that go around putting stickers in "amazing" places and taking photos of them.

A load of young teenangers with hoods up and scarves around their faces throwing bangers on to the pitch at firemen. The game was nearly abandoned because of it.

It's a secret subculture based within the East Stand support. They get together and eat hotdogs and chips under the stand while listening to the Drifters.

New physio is on board for us with Tony McCarthy opting for Shams over us, money talks unfortunately.

Still rumours of Dean Kelly floating around, along with Ciaran Kilduff one. Bisto meant to be coming back to Ireland after his very short stay in England, how true that is I'm not sure.

Bohs playing PFAI team tomorrow in Dalyer, so should be interesting to see what players make up the PFAI squad.

And in the First Division http://www.kerryman.ie/sport/soccer/dday-dawning-for-dynamos-2979337.html

Someone on our forum said Bisto was joining Southend.

    Hardly anything concrete though :p

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Killer still under contract. Deano supposed to have signed up for another year afaIk

Deano is real quality if he stays injury free.

yes, they were and it was a pittance.

Anything I've seen Kelly he's been decent, would of liked him to sign.

Is that the same LOI blog that exclusively reported Barry Ryan was retiring from Galway a few years back before realising they were talking to a different Barry Ryan on Twitter? :P

No idea, that's ridiculous if true :p

They seem to be on the ball most of the time I find. And they're sourcing sky news this time anyway, so it must be true!

Hes a kid from longford who trawls clubs forums and posts up what he finds.

Going by todays pats forum alone Kavanagh has signed for Cork, Pats and Rovers.

Disappointed Buckley didnt get any of our best players from last season. Had the makings of a decent team there.

I'll probably be going. It's just the excuse I need to get the membership renewed and to buy one of those calenders

Losing out on Baz, Ger, Quigley and North has certainly given me the cold sweats alright.

With a new manager in place, the AGM in March-ish is the next big thing on the horizon for Rovers after the year we've had on and off the pitch rather than signings.

Players will come or go..some defenders would be nice though:pac:

Kinda resigned to him going but hoped he might stay another year.

I think Deano will step up this year big time and Twigg will no doubt be played more in his favoured role but would still love Shep to stay.

I would have been surprised had he managed to hang on to both North and Kavanagh, but I'd be disappointed if he loses both.

Considering the offers made (none to north) i dont think Buckley wanted them as much as his other signings, Bonus Gate cant be the reason as Kenna was heavily involved in that.

We (Drogs) have signed Paul Crowley from Pats. Any Pats fans - how'd he get on with you last season?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,296 ✭✭✭✭gimmick

I know the figure that was agreed, but here is not the place to state it. Suffice to say that the league winning money covered it a number of times over.

But in dreamers world, Shels are about to do a Shels and are spending too much, while SPA are the paragons of financial prudence.

Hmmm, something not adding up in junksville.

Adding up to exactly our budget, i just wondered how you outbid us on certain players when you have a smaller budget.

We will have 18 players on 300 a week, our budget may increase if we get additional sponsorship from a certain investment company. But our 5500 is based on current sponsor and ticket sales and Euro monies.

    Whats yours based on :pac:

Real pity if true. Looks an exceptional young talent.

His goal V Shels in the LSC was sublime.

Maybe they have hired Darren Browne to hypnotise them during contract negotiations.

Or maybe we changed our payment method to be more inline with the rest of the league?

And what other choice do they have?

At €300 a week? Most clubs could afford that for a few of their players.

How are Bohs, Dundalk and Shels not competing with Pats for Dublin based players signatures if the measly sum of €300 is the asking price for quality players now? And don't say the draw of Europe, as most players would miss out on Europe if it meant an extra hundred or two in their wage packet every week.

I assume there are expenses or bonuses involved and it's a base wage?

At 300 quid, you would be better working even minimum wages and playing LSL with a few quid on the side.

you're forgetting it's SPA though, the glamour side, some players pay 300 quid a week for the privelege of playing for them.

    .

That would possibly explain it. I'm sure this would have to be part of the 65% rule wouldn't it?

Does anyone honestly know what their clubs are offering players and what kind of budget they're working with?
And if you do why would you be spouting what I would believe to be somewhat sensitive information on a public forum?

No, but everyone knows what every other club are offering, and are happy to give out that information.

Especially dreamers, he's a Shels ITK

Bohs have 150K. Divide that over 40 weeks and we're working with 3800 a week.
