Teething - remedies, does anything work?

Our 8 mth old was doing fine but is now getting a bit cranky and us less sleep.

Oh we've just been through 3 weeks of torture with the 2 top teeth coming down....we use bonjella during the day and nurofen at night, but there were some days he needed the nurofen through the day too. the biggest problem for us though was the big snotty cold he got at the same time...:eek: complete disaster though were back sleeping all night again thank god!!!

Yep Neurofen is brilliant. We use the suppositories on our lad as he doesn't like the oral stuff.

Calpol and Nurofen can be given at the same time if really needed. Nurofen every 8 hours and calpol every 4-6 hours but no more than 4 doses in a 24 hour period.

We have been using the teetha granules too. They are homeopathic and can be given with the nurofen and calpol.

We have a cranky madam who is waking at least once in the night at the minute. Her little gum was bleeding yesterday too. Its funny cos she got 6 teeth no promlem at all, these next ones are definately causing her upset tho

We have 10month old who has been teething for the last week, and it is not a pleasant experience for any of us.

She is very whiney, clingy and does't sleep well (except if she gets into our bed :rolleyes:). She also refuses more or less to eat solids (except for fruit) and seems to have a tummy bug as she vomited for two days. So we had to stop formula and put her onto Soya milk for now.

We have tried Calpol, teetha and bonjela, but nothing seems to really help. One tooth has cut through now and the other one can be seen just below the gum, so we are hoping it will be done soon (at least for now).

Teetha granules work wonders here and I always give it before giving nuerofen... no calpol here they don't like it for some bizarre reason...
