Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Exhibition Space in Dublin

    Hi,

I'm looking for a space in the city for an exhibition, running three weeks in December. Preferably somewhere that sees a lot of motor & pedestrian traffic, like Dawson Street/ Camden Street etc and with a large window space to display posters. Can anyone here offer any suggestions? Doesn't necessarily have to be a gallery, any space at all - but a gallery would be ideal...

    Thank you!

You could try Dublin City Council - offices on wood quay - they always have lots of things running in their foyer area.

Also, the smock alley cafe - temple bar has wall space within the cafe that it provides to photographers and other artists to run displays and exhibitions - that may be a bit more niche though than what you are interested in.

Cheers for the info. Looking for something quite large though, with a lot of window space - something like the CompuStore building on Stephens Green or Laura Ashley (neither available)

Another place I thought of was the Dublin Camera Club on Camden Street but I'm not sure how big it is or whether they hire, anyone know?

    Thanks

DCC have a Gallery. It will hold about 30 photo's in 20" x 16" Frames. Exhibitions are booked up at least six months in advance. This will be the same for most exhibition spaces. If you are looking now for space in December 2010 then you have left it too late. December 2011 is more realistic. Even to hold a small show of prints from the 2009 Boards Book in Tallaght Library we had to arrange that six months ahead.

The Gallery Space at DCC is not for hire. It does host exhibitions. If you want to be considered then contact the club (details on dublincameraclub.ie) and arrange for your work to be assessed.
