Part of surfing is the search, you need to put in the effort and find these spots yourself, asking online isn't going to make many friends.

have read about a website which says has a list of good surfing spots - but fellow surfers aint too happy about it.

surfing spots are supposed to be by word of mouth or discover yourself.

EDIT: I'm not a surfer - have never been - but would enjoy it (I guess).... hopefully some day !!

Get a surf guide, or have a quick flick through one in a surf shop on the sly.

If you can't find one there the chances of being told by a stranger are very slim.

If you are that dedicated get a good OS map and spend a day driving when the swell is huge and unsurfable.

You hardly even need a map to trawl the coast of clare.
