Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sky+ Problems

We're currently having problems with both Sky+ boxes in the house. Everything set to record on the planner starts recording, but fails unless we're watching that channel. Also, if you turn over from that channel, all other channels are gone with a "No Signal" message.

If we cancel the recording and reboot, all channels come back on.

Help!!! Really don't want to give them €100 for a call out.

I had similar issue's including "Picture freezing" and failed recordings.

No option but to call an engineer and a new box sorted it out. Worth the expense if it is driving you up the wall.

Sounds like one of your two cables is not connected properly from the LNB.

It sounds like only one of the wires from the satellite dish is plugged into your box instead of two. Therefore you can only record or watch one channel at a time. You need to check the back of the box and make sure both wires are in securely.

You should have two cables coming from the sky dish. You can check that these are working by clicking on.

    Sky Menu - Services

    System setup.

    Signal test.

Signal strength and signal quality should be greater than 50% for your two cables.

For everyone else, thank you so much for your help. I think that was the problem exactly. Input 2 seems to be gone.

    Thanks again.

I'm sure the op meant plain english, not everybody are into the technical details of satellite systems you know.

An LNB aka Low Noice Blocker is piece attached to the end of the Satellite dish arm it collects the signal which is reflected onto it by the satellite dish.

They go all the time and are relatively inexpensive, best bet would be to try your digibox at a mates house and if it works there you have a faulty LNB. You should be able to swap it out yourself unless the dish is up a fierce height or something. If the LNB is faulty and you pay sky the €100+ call out fee you will be overpaying by at least 5 times as a quad LNB is less than €20 to trade and between €20 to €30 to the consumer.

if all cables are inserted properly - you could try a planner rebuild on both boxes
