Extortion in Dundalk?

I was reading a post on another forum here on boards, The poster said his friend had been approached for "protection money" after she was about to set up a coffee shop in town. I would have thought this practice had long gone - anyone have any experience of this or hear about this sort of thing in the last 5 years? :eek:

The poster did say 'approached' and '4 years ago' so it would not appear to be a current issue.

Anything like this could be dependent upon the business sector you are involved in.
