Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

For anyone travelling to France and looking for a quiet, secure and picturesque place to break the journey, have a look here.
Situated just 35km east of Morlaix just off the N12/D712 the town of Belle-Isle-en-Terre has recently opened a beautiful 'Aire de Stationment' right in the town.
The Aire which has eight spaces has a green area adjacent with picnic tables on the bank of a lovely river.
Services at the Aire include grey and black water dump facilities, water and EHU all free, complements of the Mairie (town hall).
The town of Belle-Isle-en-Terre is typical Breton and has a choice of bars, restaurants and shops.

Why not open a sub-forum under 'motorhomes & campervans' exclusively for info about 'Aires' and places to park or stay overnight.

    Edit.
    I have added a pic.
Note that the caravan, which is owned by friends of ours whose car had broken down and was being repaired in a local garage, was allowed by special permission of the Mairie to be parked in the aire.

Dunno if a subforum for a subforum (of motors) is technically even possible ...I shall investigate

Let's not get ahead of ourselves ...we need the subforum first. That could take a while. But yes, the plan would be to have threads for all sorts of locations, not just France

Here is another one to whet the appetite.
It is situated right in the heart of the beautiful and historic city of Reims in France.
N43.2489 E04.0213 will find you at the access barrier, just go the the reception and ask for the code and you can park in a nice secluded area for free, there is also free services and wifi available.

    Hi peasant,
All is possible have a look at Biz>Consumer>Bargain Alerts>Boards Deals>Boards Deals Experiences.
So Rec>Motoring>Motorhomes&Campervans>aires plus an/other topic heading or headings to contain the threads of a common topic should be possible. These topics could contain related threads on for eg. base vehicle, gas-electric-water, living area, touring tips, etc. etc.

ps as already mentioned why not make 'Motorhomes&Campervans' a direct drill-down from 'Rec' and not via 'Motoring'

Lovely spot, visited December '08 on way back from sun. Had the place to ourselves. Also free EHU available when we were there.

BTW my Lon. is W01°30.9", one of us has an error but the site can't be missed from either, only a couple of hundred yards in it.

    Here's another nice spot.
Bagneres-de-Luchon, it's just a little detour off the N125 > N230 route between St. Gaudens (jct 17 on the A64) in France to Lleida in Spain. This is a convenient route if heading for Spain south of Barcelona from the Bordeaux are of France.
May not best in times of snow but otherwise an exhilarating route to cross the Pyrenees.
The Aire was free when we visited (September) but there could be charges in the snow season as the town is a winter ski resort.
