Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Heya guys, i have a question in regard to reformatting. I recently put a fresh install of xp on my laptop using the disk i got with my pc. However when i try to authenticate the copy by putting my serial number in it keeps saying invalid serial key. My question is can i only use my xp disk for one install or do i need the laptop connected to the internet to verify the key? I'm using basic xp home if thats any help. Thanks in advance for any replies. :)

If the version of the operating system is the same as the one on the sticker on the machine then you can install it as many times as you like. Have you double checked the serial number from the sticker.

If it's the exact disk you got with the laptop then contact the manufacturer or whoever you bought it from.

If however it's not, then the disk needs to be an XP OEM disk as the standard disks won't allow for installation using the product key from the laptop. They will however for Vista and I'm guessing it's the same for 7 as well.
