Anyone know the best way to find an Educational Psychologist? My child is 6 and her teacher has suggested that we should get her assessed because of problems with her reading. Apparently I can't get it done through the school because they don't have enough assessment allocations from the Department so I want to get it done privately.

Go to the website of the psychological society of Ireland:
    http://www.psychologicalsociety.ie/find-a-psychologist/

On the right hand side you can choose educational psychologist and your area and click search. As advised, you can choose more than one to compare for prices.

Even if it's provate, you're probably best to get a psychologist who's approved by the Department of Education (NEPS) -that makes it easier if you need to get Resource Teaching hours or other supports for your child after they are assessed.
Check out www.education.ie and www.edpsych.ie for some good information. There's also a Psychologist category in the Golden Pages - that tends to list more than just Educational (e.g. Clinical & Couselling - which are not what you need) so just stick to those listed as educational.

Looking for an educational psychologist for an adult with a suspected undiagnosed learning difficulty...Waterford or Cork would be great. Thanks.

Still the PSI is the best answer.
