“We’ve got stronger every year since I’ve been here. I think the standard of players is going up and up. We’re still progressing now, and hopefully there’s a lot more to come.”

He obviously sees his future with us, provided we can match his ambitions. COYS!

@premierleague: A #THFC double: Gareth Bale & Andre Villas Boas win the Barclays Player and Manager of the Month awards for February http://t.co/HigwUyB7bW

Isn't that AVB's 2nd award this season? I wonder what the most handed out to any one manager in one season is?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,746 ✭✭✭irishmover

He got December manager of the month.

Last time manager and player of same club got the award at same time was November 2011. When Scott Parker and Redknapp got it.

Actually got that wrong. Reading got it last month! Le Fondre and Mcdermott

Rumours of a new contract offer being prepared.

Does he warrant a third new contract in as many seasons?

If he gets us 3rd/4th (as he seems to be doing so far!) he warrants the stadium being named after him!! :D

of course he does, rip up his contract and give him a new one, probably won't happen though, show him how much we want to keep him

If we keep Bale and tie him down to a longer contract it will probably mean more Sponsorship money more players will want to play for us and we are more likely to succeed.

He's got 3.5 years remaining on his current deal.

didnt we do something along those lines with Robbo a few seasons ago?

If I remember right he played his best football after signing it which gave way to the move to Liverpool and we all know what happened then

robbo = Paul Robinson... and he slumped in form not to long after the long term contract. (in no way am i saying it will happen with Bale, whose in the best run of form ive seen in a spurs player since waddle the season prior to signing for Marsellie)

Bale was at Old Trafford last night apparently; maybe having a gander at how CR7 plies his trade.

Watching his future employers more like, take your pick as to which one.

.. not for a couple of more seasons though (hopefully)

I'd be happy to commit to a large wager that when/if Bale leaves, it won't be to another Premier League team.

I would be happy not to take that bet.

I thought you were joking until I read it in 'the sun'
Unreal. DL will need to open a creche soon. Good to see so many of the younger lads settling down, having kids. Keeps them grounded.

Well...This wont be an issue if we finish in the top 4. Finish outside of it... And well...

Not much of a surprise really, he seems to be a very grounded bloke but if we can't match his ambitions he'll inevitably leave 1) if he wants to, and 2) for the right price... 23yrs old and likely to be PFA player of the year for the second time in three years.... Words cannot describe how awesome he is, this video can though;)

Great video, brilliant player, our best since Gazza, lets enjoy him while we have him, COYS
