Microsoft Ireland, in partnership with System Dynamics, bring you ‘Private Cloud Computing Academy’.

Microsoft has been working towards a Dynamic Datacentre vision for the last 8 years and now our story in this space is almost complete – and it’s one we are really proud of.

Microsoft Cloud Computing Infrastructure enables you to achieve the flexibility and agility you need to deliver an on-premise 'private' cloud for your infrastructure, applications, management and security.

Private Cloud Computing Academy is a series of Level 300 Technical ‘how to’ training seminars. Half-day instructor-led training seminars give attendees exclusive access to DEEP technical training delivered by recognised Microsoft virtualisation experts. The first module of the series is covering Hyper-V and Private Cloud Computing and the agenda for this session is as follows:

    Introduction to Hyper-V
    What makes Hyper-V different
    SCVMM Self-Service Portal
    Private Cloud Computing
Why extend Hyper-V/SCVMM to Private Cloud Computing
    SCVMM SSP 2.0

    Module II: Managing Hyper-V (14 January 2011)
Module III: Hyper-V and Data Protection Manager (18 March 2011)
    Module IV: Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (20 May 2011)

I'm not their biggest fan, but even i'll disagree with you there. They do quite a lot of free things, some very good infact! But at the same time, I know all of their free stuff has the money making motive behind it. Since we live in a predominately MS world anyway, I can easily accept teh motive and take the free product/offer! at the end of the day, i'm only being employed to use the systems someone else has decided upon.

I agree with you on this side, but define 'free' from the concept of business !Also, add the definition of 'value' !

See Linux,is free 'as well' !! Why hasn't conquered the IT World ? Because Micro$oft is not free ? It should be more than that to it ...
But in training,MS had very good offers for dealers and partners, few even free but with a catch when they introducing new solutions...

We are living in a world moved by the money...why should it be free ? :)

Back to OP,i don't think that HyperV is mature enough for the market,VMware has it going for too long and far too reliable period...but is a good choice for us and more pressure for other suppliers, in our advantage !

True nothing Microsoft do is free but I'm sure it's alot cheaper than a VMware course. I think they come to about 2000 euro minimum and you have to do the course as well as the exam in order to get certified.

I would put my name for this if I could Cloud Computing is the way forward and getting trained up on anything related to it would be a good idea. It'll be an interesting few years that's for sure Private Cloud Computing, Public Cloud Computing, Hybrid etc....

How does everybody feel out Cloud Computing do you think it'll create more IT jobs or less?

hard to say. I think it will create more specialised jobs, to design, build and maintain these systems. Depending on what these systems are used for, who knows how many jobs there'll be.
