Try some of the sellers along the roadside on the approach roads to the town. Theres a couple of them located near the Manor roundabout and further down the Lifford road at Ballinaleckey.

tried the roadside guys, not a lot in the line of choice or quality.

quite a few good shops dotted around various towns around the north but none close to home

I always thought the Lidl organic range was very nice!

Jez those apples... *goes off on a wee dream about the juicy, so-red-they-are-burgundy, huge Lidl organic apples...*

Wouldnt mind knowing somewhere good either, the stuff in shops is usually gone off within a few days, things like peppers and grapes rarely last more than a couple of days without going soft

LIDL has a high turnover and their fruit etc tends to be good thus. Other shops sell less and so the stuff is staler.

If you go in LIDl first thing on a Monday morning they are hard at work unpacking fruit and veg.

    So timing is everything.

Staying with seasonal produce of course makes a difference too as that is often local and thus fresher. Here in West Cork now we have many markets and eat local organic produce at a low cost.

Yep, Lidl veg is good. You can also try nworganic.com. You can get a mixed bag of veg for around €12 (I think) which includes delivery in Letterkenny, Derry and thereabouts. It includes potatoes, onions, carrots and seasonal veg. They also do individual fruit, veg, dairy, meat & other stuff. You can even download free recipes from their site!
