is there actually anyone on this thread that likes the Black eyed peas?

I think they can be alright, but terrible live. (Fergie seems to be a brutal singer live).

For me, I'd prefer if they weren't playing, because now I'll probably end up going to see them because some of my friends might be going to Oxegen purely because they're playing at it. Unless there's a great band playing at the same time, then they can feck off I'll go and see some decent act! (By decent I mean not a mainstream dance act or whatever The Black Eyed Peas are, in my opinion they do not have good music.)

Apologies if I can't say feck on this, I'm new here. I'm sure you can though, it's not a swearword...

Theyre doing bennicassim, so right now it looks like I'm going there. If they get announced for oxegen could sway my decision though, looks good as they have a new album coming out very soon.

    Yes please.

New album "by march"... Julian said they'll be touring everywhere this year. MCD, get them signed up now please.

They did in 2007 i think, but i remember no one knew where it was. It was indoors somewhere but everyone we asked didnt have a clue. Joe Rooney was supposed to be there that time!

Why do they need to play? They have two songs out and both are utter rubbish.

Hugely unlikely, it would take more than just money to get him back onstage and money is pretty much all that Oxegen has going for it, in terms of booking acts.

He's fairly conclusively retired from performing due to health concerns, and he's been telling people he's done with music altogether. Sad to hear, from my point of view, but then again I suppose, y'know, he's Bowie. What more has he left to do? He finished music already. He won.

Would have loved to have seen him in 04 with The Cure but alas it never came to be.

We got The Darkness as headliners though.......

What are the rules on solid fuel cookers? They're similiar to disposable bbqs, except you can reuse them and boil water.

and the story on the BBQ pits?

The Bowie rumor circulates every year. Its one oldie act most years, this year it will be Pulp or The Strokes. Unfortunately, we won't be seeing Bowie.

This year there is more of a chance because it's fact that he is touring this year with his new album.
Oxegen confirmed him once before, theres a chance.

It's a "fact" I can't find any reference to anywhere. I stand to be corrected, but I can't see it happening.

This would be funny if not for the fact that he already agreed to do oxegen before (2004 if your wondering).

Student card (if your school doesn't give you one, then get a student travel card (www.studenttravelcard.ie)) + a colour photocopy of your passport will get you in. Student card costs about 11euro, pays itself off though as you can use it to get Student discount in virtually every shop. (eg topman give you 15% off).

Or bring down your passport, and post it back home via registered post from the onsite postoffice thats in the (red?) campsite. Costs a 5er I think.

Thanks! Most places give a discount if you flash them any sort of card, but yeah I think I'll get the 11euro one.

I love Blink, but why are you people having this debate, they clearly have not been announced as a headliner - and if they are now, it will be as a last resort (yes i would like to see them higher up the bill but if not i'm not going to pretend that they are)

Just watched the Killers 09 oxegen videos again <3 wow. I'd like to see Snow Patrol, Coldplay, Muse, Kaiser Chiefs, Kanye West, Radiohead, Laura Marling, Ellie Goulding, Florence, MGMT

Or just a dream: U2 & The killers to reunite just for one night.

Or of course, Oasis lol. 0% :(

But, I still think its going to be great :p

Didnt want to trawl back through a load of pages here so i'll just ask... any word on pendulum? they generally do it and released an album last year, it would make sense...

Like the list of candidates above from the oxegen board i have to say

    Chances of Florence this year?

Really depends on how much of the album is done, I would expect her towards the end of the festival season rather than the start so maybe more of a chance of EP? Who knows though..

Did they not release it before Oxegen 2010?

I'd say theres a chance, since La Roux played for her album which was released before Oxegen 2009.

    'Tis mad.
