Wind has really picked up in Galway in the last half hour. Going to take a trip down to the spanish arch to see what happens on high tide at 5.39pm...

Talk of 60mph gusts in Belmullet is disappointing. A proper storm would see gusts of 80- 90 mph there, with the odd gust exceeding 90 mph

Anyway Fernando Torres is making up for this damp squib storm!

    In Torres we trust! :D

Some severe gusts now here in the west, Bullmullet after recording a 100km/h gust. Wind really howling down the chimney, door just slammed shut from a gust

Winds should be peaking up around there in the next couple of hours before dropping back down again.

Hi there - Robin from http://www.decisionforheroes.com an Irish web tool for Emergency Responders.

We're working with an Icelandic company SARweather to deliver hi-res 1km forecasts with proper terrain modeling etc. We had them run the model for Dublin tonight.

Would you guys take a look at it and give some weather experts feedback?

    http://www.belgingur.is/opna/en/1/gfs/dublin/1/uvh/

    Check accuracy etc.

    Thanks!

Lads, if yer expecting some kind of event where the power might go and trees will get blown down...this isn't going to be that type of event.

The winds in the northwest will get a bit stronger over the next couple of hours and that will be as bad as it will get.

103kph gust at Belmullet. Pressure down to 988.

Wind is gusting around Galway but it's nothing big we get stronger winds than this quite often I wouldn't even call this a storm:p
