You won't be getting peak winds till around midnight. You could see 100+kph gusts.

I have to drive from Dublin to Limerick at about 6 in the morning.

Should I be putting this off? Will it still be bad at that time

    Thanks

Hi guys, know this is the weather form but advice is appreciated, due to leave for Dublin from Sligo at about 5.15am. Safe enough to travel?

Cold, wet and windy here too now. Steady rain, 2.4mm in the last hour. 991mb.

Steady fall in temps with the onset of the rain, 5.0c atm (DP 3.8c). Might be worth a spin up the Dublin/Wicklow Mountains tomorrow to see if there might be any wet snow.

Feck that I am heading the other way in about half and hour - should be fun!

Limerick: Light rain, fairly windy - nothing I would call unusual

The problem with both of those journeys is that you are driving at night after a big storm. So you have to be extra careful to drive slow enough so that you can stop before you hit any debris.

now gusty and lashing cold rain in East Clare...to be honest nothing worse than we've had already in the past 2 weeks though.

Had to go out and fetch horse in and got wringing wet in the sprint across the field...he came in pretty willingly tho' - wonder if he's seen the charts too !!!

ETA, have only just registered that my barometer is calibrated in inches  however it has still registered about an inch drop in the past 5 hours...is this good ??

Starting to get going in Arklow now.

Was just talking to my parents in Belmullet. Still windy there but the worst of it seems to be over. It was pretty stormy there earlier this evening.
Still strong gusts here and heavy rain. While it's not as bad as it was made out to be by the sensational rags (I didn't think it would be) its still not a night you would want to be out in.

    Strongest winds at 7pm

Malin Head 41 gust 55 kts
Mace Head 34 gust 50 kts

Seems these two have a "head" start on the others.

Bucketing down here in D3...it's that kind of rain that looks like it's in for a few hours. Loads of leaves on the avenues so I would imagine a few blocked drains and mini floods for the morning commute.

20mm of rain here since 4pm. Flooding on back road from Ennis to Miltown Malbay, particularly in Connolly Village.

Drive carefully as you will be in trouble if you come across one of these spots.

Wind has picked up even further in last half hour.
