I'm looking for a bit of advice

I have a very simple home network with 1)xubuntu desktop 2)vista laptop 3)work xp laptop all connected to the same dsl modem and sharing a network printer

I would like to use the ubuntu desktop as a filestore

Is there a simple way of doing this without changes to the xp laptop or should i just buy a nas harddisk ?

I haev no linux skills and muddled thru the xubuntu install so complex linux solutions will be beyone me

    Thanks
