Aluminium Profile Systems

Posted a similar thread over in Engineering but then I found this forum, so here goes.

I am after some of this stuff -

I think it's called Aluminium Profile. I basically want to build an adjustable frame for a gaming simulator / seat along the lines of this


I cannot seem to source this or similar in Ireland. Ideally I would like to get my hands on second hand material or as cheap as possible. I have scoured Google and Ebay but it all seems to come from the USA which means taxes and huge shipping costs.

Can anyone suggest a source for this type of stuff, or even a suitable alternative for the job? (I do not want to weld nor make the $frame from wood)

It is a crazy guess, but you could try aluminium profiles and accessories near rialto:

A lot of these places are a lot easier to talk to about small projects than they used to be. If you try a few places, and keep asking to be referred to somewhere else, you will eventually find what you want.

I use to deal with a company called profile developements in Cork. They rig use to do aluminium but I think they are pvc now. Worth a try

Also... That profiling looks like the type thats used with medical machinery. perhaps you can try them as well...

any upvc window company should have some its used in the reinforcing of midrailds in doors or windows you get some in kit fab limerick or star elm in limerick,profile systems in dublin .
