    I bought a UK dive torch last winter... and after one jump in the sea it was never right again. A few more dives and its dead totally, waste of cash.

    After last nights night dive - i realize the 10 euro lidl dive light thats only good enough to view my instruments, while fit for purpose, is near useless. I cant depend on my buddies lighting the way forever.

    I need a powerful dependable rechargeable dive light that can take the abuse of the sea and come back looking for more.

    Any recommendations?

    Are you interested in a cannister & umbilical torch?

    can you get two dives in the same day out of it?

    Yep - the burn times should be on the web somewhere. I never had a problem getting two dives out of it.

    Try this one, plenty brightness(390 lumens) I have got 2 days with this on a Dive trip-rechargable OR (6 x C)batteries. I have had this 2 years because I 'lost' my previous one (I blame the Coxwain!)-hope this helps;

    1200 lumens and only €93 including delivery. Expect it to take about a month to deliver though. Getting great reviews over on SCUBA board. Mine is leaving Hong Kong today. :)

    Bought this one a couple of months ago. Works out at just over €50 delivered. Very happy with it, very bright for the price. Batterys will do a days diving no problem for me. Very small torch as well so fits into a BCD pocket.

    Did you mean this one Thomas? ~€57 delivered

    Considered this one. Did you modify it at all? I saw over on Yorkshire Diver they were having problems with floods but when they modified it by clipping the spring a bit it was grand. Might just be for earlier models.

    No sure why the 640 lumen one you linked is more expensive than the 900 lumen model... :confused:

    Sorry Joe, it is the one you linked too. I did modifiy it slightly but it is nothing too serious. Took out half a turn on a spring to make the spring a tiny bit shorter. Been on twenty odd dives with me since to 30 odd meters at the deepest. No problems so far.

    Well if money wasnt an issue, not that there massively priced compared to some stuff out there but you could try this lot

    I have the bigger brother of their umbilical which was manufactured by a different company at the time, great bit of kit

    i've bought the scuba pro phad 4: http://www.scubapro.com/europe/uk/scubapro-products/lights/lights/phad-4

    it's very powerful and really light (no pun intended) on the batteries. it's also quite compact.

    There is also a spanish (I think) torch called Dragonsub. Very good and reasonably priced. I think they are a good bit cheaper than a lot of similar quality torches on the Market. You can also buy directly off the guys, but their english ain't great.
