Probably gone to their "legitimate" scalping site within seconds.......

This is ridiculous. All tickets sold out by 9.03. I've actually been getting no matches since pretty much 9 on the button. There has to be a better system than ticketmasters sh!te website. I guess its off to eBay for me.

Sorry to all of you who couldn't get tickets. :(

Look on the bright side; it won't be the last time they're in Ireland doing intimate gigs, I assure you.

Trying to get two of these as a 21st birthday gift since yesterday, same sh1t today, 30 seconds after 9 o'clock and all gone, same yesterday. Tickets appearing on ebay within seconds, its jokes

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 744 ✭✭✭Messi19

Managed to get 4 'best available' which was seated. Even had my mam down at the local kiosk about 10th in the queue and the woman on the desk said the 1st person in the queue would be lucky to get 4 because there was only between 4000-6000 left for general sale

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,819 ✭✭✭Hannibal

got asked to answer that security password about 20 different times up until 9.08 again it was accepted by which time 'there was nothing left'. This is a scam by ticketmaster

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 446 ✭✭Lillylilly

    I'm so upset....

This is obviously punishment cos I got the Slane ones fairly easy :(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 210 ✭✭996tt

it is really the luck of the draw, i managed to get both slane and the O2.

Pretty sickening to see the prices being asked on Ebay, they review the process, maybe make you bring your passport to prevent touting.

One has to question how many tickets are on sale from 9? Idiots that have no interest in going are very clever in buying loads of these tickets on the button with little left for the people who actually want to go.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 921 ✭✭✭sonic.trip

really is a joke how most of us couldn't get tickets since 9.00 on the button and people that have no interest in going get them

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,010 ✭✭✭Tech3

I wouldnt buy a ticket being reselled, never have- never will.

I was seated at the O2 last year for them and the security/ usher fellas were fairly strict alright. You only get into the little area that your ticket states, no hope for standing if your ticket is seated. They actually kept giving out to us for standing at our seats as well.

Oh, I'm so filled with negativity!!!!!

Well if thats all they can do then they are idiots, law should be changed to get people like these fined

out of curiousity, does anyone know what percentage of tickets are released on o2 priority?

Have you been to the O2 since it was done up? I was only there the once, but I remember the queue being broken up and there was a different entrance for those going up to the seats, and those down on the ground. Now, I was tipsy, but this is what I recall!

    Good luck though :)

Never been to it at all actually. I'm sure they'd let one slide seeing as I'm acting as guardian? Although I know people will say that will cause a ripple effect and everyone will want to just "let one slide"

It depends where you're trying to slide, though, doesn't it?

Are you trying to 'just slide' into the event for free, as you're acting as a guardian to a younger fellow, or are you trying to slide to a whole different area of the venue?

I've been to WWE wrestling in the o2 and the security guys were sound as hell. So long as you're polite and all. They usually let people move to better seats and stuff if other people no-show and such. If the place is packed, I don't see you doing much sliding around though.

I'm enjoying the use of the word 'slide' now :D

Got four standing tickets and one (ten euro dearer) ticket for Block J. Hoping to get to the standing area. Plan on being there early, so I live in pessimistic hope.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,341 ✭✭✭jasonb

Managed to get 2 for the cheap seats. Not great seats ( of course ) but I'll be there, and I'll be sitting, so that's me happy!

we could always join the "o2 premium club" and get tickets even when events are sold out, 2500 a year :p

omg Lily, i can totally feel your pain, got slane pretty easy myself, and i was up at 8.30 this morning to get tickets!! and no luck!! i only wanted 2 standing and i picked 'best available'. This is a disgrace.

So fcuking not fair, especically prob half the tickets were sold to teenyboppers who arent even true fans of kings of leon!!

GUTTED isnt even the word for me, cant even go to college today now because i feel like crying my heart and sole out!!! Recession, hardly by the way slane and 02 sold out!!! Even got my daddy to go into ticketmaster to check and they said they were shocked it sold out so fast, that its crazy!!

Anyone know from now to december the 11th, where i could get 2 standing tickets??? sooo in shock!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,616 ✭✭✭8k2q1gfcz9s5d4

it would be so funny if they played just played the first 3 albums, and maybe crawl :) (like oxegen 08). 90% of the crowd wouldnt have a clue what the songs are.

at this stage most of the old KOL fans (pardon pun ;)) from 03-04 like me have given up on the band after the last two albums. I honestly dont think I'l ever see them again

Thats unfortunate, seems alot of people on here had no joy

but all the touts on ebay have loads to spare, some fella has 8 selling at €150.

As for getting one before then just keep tryin ticketmaster daily, some more might become available, but as the concert is in a month they probably did sell all of them today. Only other way is for people to buy from places like ebay, few sellers have bids going on, maybe you might get one cheap there. know how you feel :mad::mad:

It certainly does. I had been expecting a gig in the O2 at some point before xmas since they were playing a few in the UK and had been checking up on it every week. Ended up getting a slane ticket cos I thought thats all they were going to play. Even a friend of mine told me on saturday that she knew since the summer that they were playing the O2 (she works there from time to time).

The real thing that annoys me is the amount of tickets popping up for €150-€200 almost immmediate and the amount of genuine fans left completely p***ed right off.

Unlikely this side of xmas. They're in Germany on the 9th and here on the 11th. The 12th could've been a possibility but the O2 is already booked for Here Come The Girls and then its off to the UK until the 21st......but you never know. I'd hope that for those who didn't get tickets that something happens

Got up early and queued for tickets on my day off but no joy. Was hoping to bring my little brother for his first concert :(

This is such a joke. Ticketmaster and/or O2 and/or MCD need to stop this pre-sale lark. They should go on sale to everyone at a certain time and then at least if you don;t get them you don't feel like an idiot not being part of the pre-sale "in" club. I would love to be an insider in ticketmaster and see if certain IP addresses are given priority in the "queuing" system! I didn't even get a look in this am.

We need to start some kind of petition to stop this.

And for anyone that might think I'm being two faced, I just want to let you know that I got BJ tickets this morning as part of the pre-sale but that was after 2 hours scouring the internet for codes etc. we shouldn't have to do this but after missing out on KOL I felt I had no choice if I wanted to go.

The pre-sale date will eventually become the sale date so what will they dream up next.............a pre-sale, pre-sale date??? give me a break. I am just so annoyed right now.

Your idea for presales to be stopped is never going to happen im afraid

mainly because O2 sponsor the venue and as part of that deal they get a priority for their o2 customers to buy tickets 24-48 hours before general public, thus in return it keeps customers who attend the o2 for concerts and also gives them the opportunity of getting new customers from the other networks as they wouldn't have this exclusivity

And as for other bands etc, they might have a fan club which fans pay to be a member of which also gives them access to presales.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5 Rian10

thanks for pointing that out. I didn't realise that O2 mobile customers also got the pre-sale "treatment". I thought you had to be a member of their Premium club at a cost of €2,500 per year. At this rate, I might even change my network and become another "lamb to the slaughter" of their corporate monopoly. Now I really am pissed off.

Friend of mine got me a ticket, said she was refreshing from 8:50-she just got lucky I suppose.

As regards the seating area, you wont be let down to standing 90% of the time when its sold out-you might find the odd security man who will but its a case of sneaking past or asking very nicely. everyone will be standing in their seats anyways.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 79 ✭✭iangobl

Agree with all above statements its a joke. Got up and arrived into town at 8:30 to be told they were sold out?? Ticketmaster said that they were going on sale at 9 so either 100% were given to O2 customers and corperates or else they put them on sale early. Either way im pissed off
