Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

To avoid outright commercialism is wonderfully vague. They had no problem taking the 60k from EPSN to show their game. I doubt they'll have any problem taking the money from round two either.

Fair play to them. Their fans were a breath of fresh air. If i'm in manchester i'll def look to try and go to one of their games solely because of them. They are actually doing something they care about, they thing to remember is they'd still be doing it even if they hadn't played that match againsy Rochdale. I do think they are here for the long term.

The sad part for me is the club i support have driven so many of these fans away.

I won't be switching, not now or ever but i'll definitely keep an eye on FC and wish them nothing but success.

You can keep posting that link it's not going to change anything.
And you can keep posting that they are not anti-commercial when they in fact are anti-commercial, that fact wont change either. There is zero appetite for the commercial football world at that club, which is hardly surprising due to Old Trafford turning into a morgue full of football tourists from SE Asia, Scandinavia and Ireland.

I know a few lads involved in FCUM, would love to see a friendly between our two clubs, or a bit of a tournament for fan-owned clubs on these islands some day.

The fans were asked if they wanted the game to go on TV first AFAIK. just about everything is put to the fans before any descions are made.

    You mighn't be welcome :D
The material theft of a Manchester institution, forcibly taken from the people of Manchester, was the tip of a pyramid of destruction, with changing kick off times for the benefit of television, soulless all-seater stadia full of 'new' supporters intent to sit back and watch rather than partake in the occasion, heavy handed stewarding and ridiculously priced tickets propping it all up.

Why show the match on ESPN and take 60k then ? does that sound anit commericial?

We'll try where possible does not mean anti commercial

Life is not black and white as you would like to think and trotting out the same rubbish isn't going to change that.

That reads to me like they'll avoid commercialism unless absolutely necessary, which is about as anti-commercial as you can get. Think we will have to agree to disagree.

Are they moving ground next season does anyone know? What about AFC Wimbledons ground move, is that happening?

Well the brothers been to a game of theirs it seems he forgot to tell me, and backs up everything here. The majority still keep an eye on United scores and results. With a welcoming attitude to any new fans, apparently alot of fans form nearby bigger clubs go along to the matches as they are so much fun.

The hardcore are still anti glazer - not a penny to united util there gone, to the extent of boycotting any possible match in OT.

Im not sure of the contractual obligations of playing in the FA cup. Presumably they have a participation agreement like we have here, where appearing on TV is not optional. I suppose they could have donated the money to charity. (Like a non-profit football club maybe)

I'm sure some of them do that too.

It's not some zealot religion, if you go to old trafford you can't come here, it's not a cult it's a non profit football club

    Fixed that for you

Atmosphere at GAA matches? When did this start?

Some time ago. It has to do with supporting the people from your locallty, something like UMan, but nothing like League of Ireland mercenaries. I'd love to support a local association football team but I wouldn't recognise them from season to season, do you have this problem?

My son plays GAA football, hurling and soccer. Each twice a week.
And I go with him, twice a week, do some coaching as well for all three.

We went to Croke Park last week, €25 for me and €5 for him, great atmosphere, 61k people there. I didn't bring him to a soccer friendly as the total cost was almost three times this.....for no atmosphere and sh1t games.......
